Ayurveda natural healing has been researched for several years. Research has proven amazing effects of the natural ways of healing stress and strain of the minds, physical ailments and elevation of the spirit from worldly matters. Current studies are being done to see if turmeric is effective for treating cancer. Preliminary studies show promise but more studies need to done before drawing conclusions. A 2002 study shows that Triphala, a common Ayurveda medicine consisting of several fruits, is effective in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders.

Ayurvedic meals are based upon natural, healthy foods and the importance of incorporating all six tastes in your diet every day to be balanced and healthy.  The six tastes are:

Sweet – pasta, milk, sugar, honey, rice, etc.
Sour –yogurt, lemons, vinegar, hard cheese, yogurt, etc.
Salty – salt, any salty food
Pungent – cayenne, chili peppers, ginger, any hot spice
Bitter – lettuce, leafy greens, turmeric, etc.
Astringent— beans, lentils, pomegranate etc.


Common Ayurveda Natural Healing Herbs and Spices

Some of the most common herbs and spices we use in everyday life form the basics of Ayurvedic medicines.

 Some of them include:

  • Black pepper
  • Fennel
  • Cloves
  • Cinnamon

  • Turmeric (**Editor’s note—this is my favorite!)
  • Rock salt
  • Ginger

All of these are very effective at treating various ailments especially when they are combined together, and are very powerful in healing the body.

If you are on an Ayurvedic treatment it is most effective when you follow the Ayurvedic diet chart prepared especially for you. The diet mostly consists of honey, fresh foods that are devoid of pesticides and artificial fertilizers, fresh fruits and vegetables that are seasonal and locally available. Freshly prepared meals should be the first choice. Simple and natural foods are effective in curing common diseases like cough and colds or light fevers. But when a distinct ailment is detected, the prescribed medicines should be given.


Ayurveda Obesity Treatment

Obesity problems are increasing at a rapid pace. If one can adhere to the simple remedies of Ayurveda, then losing weight can happen in a safe, natural way.


Lime Juice and Honey

Lime juice and honey taken with luke warm water reduces fat to a great extent. It is one of the most effective remedies of obesity according to Ayurveda. It also keeps the energy level in tact as well as the appetite of an individual.

Dosage: A glass of warm water with two teaspoons of honey and fresh lime juice is to be taken throughout the day.

Most women suffer from menstrual problems because of the hectic lifestyle of today while some have hereditary issues. Whatever may be the cause, Ayurveda natural healing can cure nearly all such issues.

**Editor’s Favorite Ayurvedic Fibroid Treatment

Ayurveda Natural Healing

 I have fibroids and have shrunk several of them with various natural methods. I found that drinking organic turmeric powder in hot water helps lessens heavy flow.

Dosage: (For mild symptoms) I drink one cup in the morning before eating fresh organic fruit.  One large cup of hot water, add one heaping tbsp. of organic turmeric powder. Also add two tsp. of fresh squeezed lemon juice for flavor purposes. Let steep for 10 minutes or until cool. Fresh turmeric is very strong and the lemon helps dampen the strong taste.

(For excessive bleeding) Drink two or three cups of turmeric tea each day. Get in the habit of drinking this every day. I suggest drinking this for two or three months before seeing noticeable results.  If you can’t find fresh, organic turmeric in your local health food store then go to a local Indian food store.
